Chickens on a high-welfare farm

Revolutionizing chicken farming in Thailand

Blog

We are transforming chicken farming by prioritizing animal welfare and sustainability. Through innovative practices and a commitment to humane treatment, we are setting new standards for organic, high-welfare poultry.

In Thailand, change for chickens is being made.

Our latest documentary highlights Patom Organic Living, one of the grantees from our Investing in Others program. Patom has been dedicated to promoting organic food, consumer welfare, and environmental protection since 2008. Working closely with Kid Dee Farm, a local chicken producer, their shared mission is to cultivate high-welfare, organic produce for both business clients (like hotels and restaurants) and individual consumers at markets and their own restaurant.

Their goal is simple: to raise chickens in a manner that prioritizes their well-being while also promoting a healthier future for consumers.

Together, they are revolutionizing the way food is grown and enjoyed.

Prioritizing chicken welfare

At Kid Dee Farm, chickens are recognized as sentient beings - they are individuals with their own unique motivations and desires.

Chickens raised in factory farms are trapped in overcrowded sheds with less space than a piece of paper with little to no natural light or enrichment.

In this haven for chickens, they are free to roam, scratch, socialize and forage on the ground for food. It's a life that mirrors their wild counterparts, a life that puts their welfare first.

While providing an appropriate and enriched living space helps to promote good welfare, the secret of these chicken's well-being lies in their diet. Kid Dee Farm and Patom Organic Living ensure that their chickens consume nothing but the finest organic grains, including broken-milled rice, corn, soybean and mung bean.

By ensuring the chickens are fed a natural, organic diet, Kid Dee Farm and Patom Organic Living are taking critical steps to protect both animal welfare and consumer health. This commitment to high-welfare farming not only supports the well-being of chickens but also ensures people enjoy healthier, safer food.
