Why this debate mattered
Hosted in partnership with leading animal protection organizations across Canada, the debate brought together representatives from four of the main political parties to discuss how Canada can do better for animals.
With animal protection increasingly on the minds of voters, this was a rare and powerful opportunity to hear directly from the people shaping our federal laws and policies.

Moderated by Karman Wong
Karman has more than 20 years of experience as a communications professional, with the unique perspective of being on both sides of the camera. Karman worked as a reporter and anchor for Toronto's 24-hour news channel - CP24. Previously, Karman spent over ten years as a communications advisor to the Premier of Ontario and several cabinet ministers. She served as the Premier’s Director of Issues Management and Legislative Affairs. She has also held senior positions in campaigns at the municipal and provincial level.
Karman currently manages a boutique communication firm specializing in media relations, communications strategy, media training and crisis communications.
