Power of Animals
When animals thrive, we all do.
Animals hold incredible power. They inspire joy, offer companionship and provide a deeper connection to nature. But their power is much greater than their influence on our daily lives. At World Animal Protection, we believe that prioritizing the wellbeing of animals is the key to healing our wounded planet.
We’ve launched the Power of Animals Campaign in Canada and the US to stop animal exploitation and create a thriving future for all. Support for our multi-year fundraising campaign will enable us to protect more animals from suffering in factory farming and the global wildlife trade.
OUR MISSION: By 2030, we will end the world’s reliance on factory farming and curb the commercial trade of wildlife.
Stop suffering and destruction at the source
Factory farming is the largest source of animal suffering on earth. And millions of wild animals suffer in captivity for tourism, entertainment and as pets. Far too many animals are denied their most basic needs so powerful industries can grow rich.
The mistreatment of animals also has critical impacts on our health and the planet. Factory farming is fueling climate change and is linked to diseases deadly to people. The global wildlife trade is also a threat, contributing to pandemics like COVID-19.
Impact of your support
By supporting the Power of Animals campaign, you can:
Advocate
Advocate for ethical, sustainable substitutes for factory-farmed meat; or animal-friendly alternatives to elephant rides, dolphin shows or wildlife selfies.
Protect
Put pressure on governments to pass laws that protect animals. Legal protections are our most powerful tool to change animals’ lives forever.
Mobilize
Help mobilize more people to demand better treatment of animals.
Rescue
Rescue and rehabilitate animals in emergencies or suffering in captivity.
Activate the Power of Animals
Support for our Campaign will help the world fundamentally change its relationship with animals, to move away from cruelty and exploitation towards a compassionate future. In this future, all animals can thrive. And so will we.
